It’s that time of the year where we change out our Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccinos for Pumpkin Spice Lattes! That’s right, folks, it’s officially fall! Every home decor lover knows what that means! It’s time to replace our bright, colorful pillows and home decor with pumpkins and more appropriate fall colors such as orange, yellow, red, burgundy, brown and even dark green. Now pumpkins come in all different colors and textures, so you can have fun decorating in your own unique style.
My style is evolving this fall, yall! I’m embracing more color in my home and in my fall decor. I was inspired by an amber jar I found at Homegoods in late August. I then started to see them at Target, and I knew this would be my design inspiration for fall.
I pulled out my faux pumpkins from the garage to assess what I needed for my vision. Other than the mercury glass pumpkins, I decided to use all of my faux pumpkins in this year’s look.
Since we have a very open concept family room and kitchen, I decided these were the most advantageous areas for me to decorate. After several trips to Michaels, Target, Homegoods, Pier 1, and Hobby Lobby, I was ready to start the process of taking my home from a very neutral summer aesthetic to a warm, fall feeling.
I started with this beautiful light wood console table from World Market. It provided a great base since I already had some beautiful baskets for updated pillows and throws.
The Crate and Barrel vase was the centerpiece for the console table, so I styled it with the Target and Pier 1 stems. The earth tones of the vase work well with the golden and orange colors in the stems.
Of course, the amber bottles from Homegoods (tall) and Target (short) provide warm color and appeal to the console table. The richness of the amber is the perfect accent for my neutral palette.
The patterned pillows and throws are just the right colors and hues to accent the decor pieces on the console table.
My old faithful coffee table books and sculpture piece from Pottery Barn helps to balance out the vibrate fall colors. Everyone knows that black and white are my signature colors, so I must always include them in my palette.
The family room pillows were changed to incorporate the gold tones that I so love this fall. You can’t go wrong with new pillows and throws to add a little warmth and coziness to your sofas and chairs.
I needed to cozy up the Windsor bench, so that was my next area to tackle. The added colors and details against the black bench were necessary to warm up this space and invite friends and family to take a seat!
The cozy throw and pillow provide the warmth needed for that first cup of coffee on a crisp fall morning in Virginia.
This basket from Target was an excellent find! I had seen all over Instagram, and I feel in love with it. I ran out to find them right away. I purchased the last one they had in stock at my local Target.
I played around with stems and foliage that I found at Michaels, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
The floor pillows provide a great place to kick up your feet and enjoy a cup of pumpkin spice coffee (or maple) and scroll Instagram on a lazy afternoon.
The tray of pumpkins provide interest for the kids and gives them something to play with when I’m preparing dinner.
The Caleb lanterns from Pottery Barn and the candles provide ambiance and glow on a nice starless night.
One of the new areas that I decided to decorate for fall is my eat-in kitchen sideboard. I purchased a few Etsy items along with some new candle holders to add some richness to the decor.
The creme de la creme on the sideboard is this huge amber vase that I found at Homegoods. It was the inspiration for my fall decor. It adds color and warmth to this corner. These stems are all from Pier 1, and I love how the arrangement came together.
The accents on the countertop are a mix of my favorites to include warm wood, black accents, and off-white decor pieces.
The coffee station received a face-lift for fall. I decided to get in on the tiered tray craze! I picked up a few decor pieces to create this beautiful (if I say so myself) tray. Falling pumpkins from the pedestal finalize the coffee station look.
The infamous island boosts a new amphora vase filled with stems from Michaels. I placed it in my favorite wooden dough bowl since the colors blend so well.
I hope you enjoyed my new found love of color and my fall home tour. I truly enjoyed decorating my home for fall this year!
