It’s springtime here in Texas, and we’re excited to begin entertaining friends and family in our outdoor living space. I’ve partnered with Target to share how I’ve decorated our covered patio using a neutral palette and lots of textures. Target never disappoints when looking for affordable outdoor living décor.
This blog post is made in collaboration with Target and all my opinions are my own.
The neutral palette allows me to keep our outdoor living space looking fresh and clean throughout the spring and summer months.
Side Tables and Ottomans
I’m sure you will agree that every outdoor living space needs a place for your beverages. When I found this outdoor accent table, I knew I could use it as either a side table or a garden stool. Its ridged, teardrop shape compliments the design style of my home. The modern, yet contemporary style elevates my outdoor living space in an elegant and sophisticated way.
I love this garden stool so much. I also used it as a plant stand for my newly planted greenery. The versatility of this piece is a bonus and would be a great addition to your outdoor living / entertaining spaces. This piece is weather resistant so it will withstand the Texas spring and summer weather.
More importantly, I added this gorgeous ottoman to create an easy, laid-back space to kick up our feet and relax after a long day of work. It doubles as a coffee table or additional seating for large outdoor gatherings. This Calla Patio ottoman is neutral, yet easy to clean and maintain. Kick up your feet and enjoy an evening of fun with friends and family.
Textured Outdoor Living Accent Pillows
My philosophy when starting with a neutral base is to layer in texture using accent pillows. To illustrate this point, check out the textured accent pillows I’ve curated on my outdoor sectional. I was very intentional about this pairing to include throwing in a black and white pillow to add a tad bit of contrast to the mix.
Consequently, the outdoor living vibe complements the look that I’m going for the inside of my new home. When the door is open, this space needs to look and feel cohesive. I think I was able to achieve that goal using a similar color palette and woven trays, and varying wood tones.
Target has some amazing outdoor living and home décor pieces. Keeping my palette neutral allows me to later add some color to my dinnerware and serve ware pieces. You can also shop for the items either in-store or online at Target. Their outdoor dinnerware and serving ware are second to none.
Woven Tray and Lanterns
Once I added a little texture using accent pillows, let’s now go in and layer some additional textures using natural-looking elements.
The resin, faux wicker lanterns are a great addition to any outdoor space if you’re entertaining in the late evening or after dark. If you just want the versatility of adding warmth to your outdoor living space, you can’t go wrong with a pair of these lanterns for a relaxed vibe.
For added dimension and style, I styled these maize outdoor lantern candleholders on my tabletop, Whether we’re serving up evening drinks or Friday night pizza, these mesh candle holders add ambiance to my outdoor tablescape. Throw in your favorite candles and you’re sure to impress with these amazing finds.
Just like the lanterns, this wicker tray is perfect for serving up a cold drink outside on the covered patio. This round, woven tray makes it easy to transition from indoors to outdoor entertaining. Once I open the nanowall, I can easily serve up either a special cocktail or lemonade to my family and guests using the handles. There are two sizes, and they are perfect for carrying a pitcher and tumblers.
Outdoor Living – Container Gardening with Target Planters
I love a gardenia plant, and this one looks so stunning in this gray concrete planter from Project 62. You can see the white flower peeking through all of the green foliage which fills up this modern planter.
I paired a white and black planter with this neutral gray planter. This pairing goes well with the neutral and black tones throughout our outdoor living space.
