This blog post is made in collaboration with Walmart and all my opinions are my own.
If you’ve been following along, you know I transformed my guest room (link here) for the summer using mostly items from the Gap Home Collection at Walmart. Well, I decided to do a fall inspired guest bedroom refresh with a few small, subtle changes.
I partnered with Walmart Home to bring you some of my favorite items from their Gap Home and My Texas House Collections. Here’s the interesting part….these items are exclusive to Walmart Home and can be found at Walmart.com. The quality of the items are superb and you can get most of them
Fall Inspired Guest Bedroom Refresh and Transition
As you can see from the above picture from my summer look, the white comforter provides a great neutral palette.
I absolutely love the fall season! In fact, it’s my favorite time of the year to redecorate my guest bedroom. Since I had a lot of the Gap Home Collection pieces, it is so easy for me to add in off-white and brown hues for a fall inspired look.
Neutral Sheets
So what’s the solution for this transformation? New accent pillows, sheets, and a throw are just the right pieces that I need to give this guest bedroom autumn vibes.
Speaking of sheets….I’m typically an all-white sheets type of girl; however, these Gap Home Solid Percale Easy Care Sheets in Khaki are the perfect neutral. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone when it comes to transitioning from spring to fall. The idea of what is neutral is expanding, and I’m embracing the adoption of muted hues as the new neutral.
Fall Pillows and Throw
In addition to the khaki sheets, I also found these My Texas House Weston Woven Cotton Slub Pillows in beige to complement the white Gap Home comforter and the updated sheets. These pillows have a nice contrasting thread in a deeper hue, and I love how much texture they add to the space.
At the same time, the My Texas House Barret Tassel Oblong Decorative Pillow in tan/white provides a great pairing for the textured slub pillows. It’s giving this guest room a muted, fall inspired Boho vibe. By the way, I am loving oblong pillows as an accent to the traditional square pillows.
But wait…there’s more! This My Texas House Cotton Throw in beige gives the bed such a layered, textured look. Of course, I love this throw! I also purchased it in blush pink. This tasseled throw is so cozy and comfortable.
Finally, I updated the bench with this Mainstays Faux Suede Decorative Square Throw Pillow in the color brownstone. It gives this space a cozy feel, and a great place to either sit or place your handbag on. In other words, it’s cute and practical. What a great addition to the My Texas House Parker Tufted Cotton Oblong Decorative Pillow that graced this space during the summer transformation.
I know you’re thinking…why so many names for the color brown? I don’t know, but the colors all blend so well. Honestly, I think the color names are a fun way to describe the various shades of brown.
As if that’s not enough color and texture for the fall inspired guest bedroom, I also added a little color with a vase and faux stems. Your guest will love to sit at the desk and write in their journal during their stay.
Gold Accents for Fall
I absolutely love gold accents paired with muted colors, so this decorative BHG Gold Geometric Tabletop Sculpture gives me the right about of bling. It pairs nicely with this BHG Wood with Metal Rivet Accent frame I picked up during my summer haul. This frame is the perfect spot to place a printed copy of your WiFi password.
My guest bedroom is now fall and guest-ready, and I can’t wait to bring my guests a pot of chai tea to relax and unwind before I put them to work helping with my upcoming packing/move. Let me know below if you like to serve tea and snacks to your weekend guests. I often put together a nice basket with snacks, water, slippers, a bathrobe, and some toiletries to make them feel at home. Trust me…your guests will thank you for being so thoughtful.
The Unexpected Fall Decorative Accent
I think you’ll agree with me when I say pumpkins make great décor….especially this cute white one that I picked up at the farm a couple of weeks ago.
In conclusion, I would recommend the Walmart Home collections for quick and easy fall updates to your guest, primary or secondary bedrooms.
